Backstory/History (From DH to Ascendant)

Megan returned home for winter holidays in late December 1997 to find distressing news. Her mother had been accidentally killed in a terrorist attack while at work. Mr. Jones, distraught over his wife's death and fearing for his daughter's safety, convinces Megan that they need to go into hiding. By Christmas, Megan and her father had left the UK to stay with a family of a colleague from the university.

As Megan was leaving, she writes a frantic and somewhat disjoined letter to her best friend Zach explaining the situation. In it, she asked that he do anything possible to ensure that he still be alive when she got back.

Megan and her father live in Canada from December 1997 until June of 1999, after Megan retakes her final year at school. In March of 1999, Megan learns about her Grandfather's death, via suicide, and she is invited by her Aunt Margaret to come down to Jamaica after she finishes school.

From June of 1999 until February of 2000, Megan and her father live in Kingston, Jamaica at her family's home. Her father eventually gets a job teaching at the local college and Megan works along side her aunt at the family restaurant. Shortly before the new year, certain events force Megan to decide it's time to return to the UK (by herself) to tackle the world she left behind. Megan is currently live in flat in Wales and working as a production assistant at a wireless morning news show.
